Netxol vs Zalpro Solutions: an honest look at two Pakistan-relevant ISP platforms

Zalpro Solutions is a well-known Pakistani ISP billing and management platform. This is a fair, methodical comparison against Netxol NOS — what each stack does, where they overlap, and where they part ways.

Netxol vs Zalpro Solutions: an honest look at two Pakistan-relevant ISP platforms

In the Pakistani ISP market — where JazzCash and EasyPaisa dominate residential collections, where MikroTik + Huawei OLTs are the default access stack, and where operators grow rapidly from PPPoE-only to full FTTH — the natural evaluation shortlist for a management + billing platform frequently includes Zalpro Solutions and Netxol. Both are locally-aware. Both know the market. This is our honest side-by-side.

Zalpro Solutions is a Karachi-headquartered ISP billing and management platform with strong presence in Pakistan and expanding footprint in the wider region. It bundles subscriber management, billing, PPPoE integration with MikroTik, ticketing and a customer portal. It is a real product, run by people who understand the local market, and it has helped many Pakistani ISPs get to scale.

Netxol is a broader AI-native operating layer that ships as an appliance (Netxol Core) preloaded with NOS. NOS bundles NMM (monitoring, management, ACS, RADIUS, syslog, GIS), CRM, Billing, ERP, an AI Engine and the Companion Apps — every module living on the same subscriber / OLT / invoice graph. See the full platform at [Netxol NOS](/products/nos) and [Netxol Core](/products/core).

Where they overlap

For a Pakistani WISP or small FTTH ISP running MikroTik + a couple of Huawei OLTs, Zalpro handles the daily loop competently: subscribers created, plans changed, invoices sent, PPPoE sessions managed via RADIUS. Netxol Billing covers the same ground — recurring, prepaid, postpaid, usage-based billing — plus the Netxol payment-collection layer that accepts JazzCash, EasyPaisa, Mastercard and Visa inside the Subscriber App out of the box. See [Netxol Billing](/products/modules/billing).

Where Zalpro is still the right call

For a very small WISP just starting out — say under 500 subscribers, one router, no OLT yet — Zalpro is a fast on-ramp with lower up-front commitment than an appliance-based platform. Netxol targets the same market segment (see [Small ISP solution](/solutions/small-isp)) but through a Core X1 appliance model, which is a heavier initial commitment that pays back through the platform breadth.

Where Netxol pulls ahead

The moment a Pakistani ISP crosses ~2,000 subscribers and starts operating multiple OLTs, needs a real ACS for CPE management, needs a subscriber-facing mobile app with wallet-native payments, or needs finance to close the month without exporting to QuickBooks — the balance tips toward Netxol. The single graph model means one truth per subscriber across NMM, CRM, Billing and ERP; there is no reconciliation exercise between the billing tool and the network tool.

The specific Pakistan story: mobile-wallet collection

The one asset in Netxol that operators in Pakistan repeatedly cite is the built-in aggregation for JazzCash and EasyPaisa. Netxol operates the collection layer, so a new operator does not need to sign a separate merchant contract with each processor before they can accept a payment — subscribers pay from inside the Subscriber App, Netxol receives the funds, and Netxol settles the net to the operator on a defined schedule.

Migration is well-worn

If you are on Zalpro today and considering Netxol, migration is a supervised import: subscribers, PPPoE credentials, plan catalogue and open invoices come across in bulk. Cutover is at a billing-cycle boundary. Talk to sales for a scoped plan.
